Great list. I love collage, have kept an Illustrated Discovery Journal off and on for years that is a form of collage. I found this art site that sends a weekly email sharing the work of collage artists and I love seeing the work and reading the interview -- it's https://www.revuecolle.com if you want to check it out. Love the neuro art too. Have fun on your library tour, great idea!
I've just bought some inexpensive colored fountain pens and recently listened to "The Correspondent" -- I'm starting weekly letter writing project. Also starting to revert to the analog life -- carrying my point and shoot camera, wearing a regular watch, leaving the cell phone in the car, and I just found my old iPod!
We are kindred spirits, Nancy! I love all the things you listed and I just signed up for the newsletter you recommended. Thanks for sharing!
I just did my first library morning in Wellfleet while I waited for Stephen to be done with his grooming appointment. So peaceful and such a wonderful community center.
I also just got my iPod mini charged and have discovered a whole catalog of a certain era of my life. I even found a “T Playlist” for when I commuted on the Green Line across Boston to the Longwood area.
A list of possibilities may be the most brilliant thing ever.
Whimsy and joy here mostly from dog silliness. We have reinstated “day of John (or other family member”) where we do stuff they like or wanted to explore as a family. Friday, kid is off school, so day of N., we are getting pedis and helping socialize service dog puppies.
Thanks for the new edition. Each one feels like a hug. (So hugging gently back)
I love the Day of John idea! How fun! It must be so nice to share your favorite activities with the people you love the most.
And what would we do without our dogs?? Stephen just turned 13 so he is settling into his curmudgeonly old man era with regular side eye, stubbornness, and a wicked bark. But he is also super snuggly and I just melt.
As promised, I am sharing a small compilation of the Whispers of Yes you all shared with me:
1. The Italian practice of "passegiata" -- taking a leisurely stroll around town (or your neighborhood) after your evening meal. The first time I went to Italy, we did this every night and while I thought of it more as a gelato excursion then, it really was nice to see everyone out just meandering the main road.
2. The Pleasure Lists on Substack. People share their lists of things that bring them joy. It is a treasure trove of ideas and good feelings!
3. Subscriptions to artists' monthly mailings. Great recommendation -- I forgot about this! There are so many out there where you can get little prints, stickers, a letter, maps, a watercolor kit, paper ephemera -- all sort of original goodies. Not only do you get to support an individual creative but you get surprise snail mail! I recently subscribed to Lizzy Gass' Order of Artificers monthly club -- I get a map, a print, and a craft. The first one was a DRAGON.
Keep the recommendations coming! And thank you all for sharing!

Wish the hugs were real!
Another contribution!
1. Whimsical sweaters (as I know her personally, I can attest to the fantastic sweaters she wears! Think Suermondt sticker sweaters.)
2. Actively practicing gratitude before bed each evening
3. Enjoying the vintage J. Crew rugbies she saved from the 90s
4. RESTING without feeling guilty about it (!!!!)
